An der Bahre Trude Hammerschlags sprach Prof. Dr. Julius Tandler als Amtsführender Stadtrat von Wien am 14. Juni 1930 die Totenrede:

"Im Fluge ging vor wenigen Tagen die Kunde durch unsere Stadt, daß Trude Hammerschlag von furchtbarem Unglück betroffen worden sei. Abwehrender Unglaube wich zu bald entsetzlicher Gewißheit und alle in unserer Stadt, denen die Güter der Kultur und die Hochziele wahrer Menschlichkeit am Herzen liegen, ergriff tiefes Mitleid. Trauer zieht immer größere Kreise."
